The Digidesign® Training and Education program offers a full curriculum to help you become proficient using Pro Tools® systems. At the moment The Indian School for Media Studies offers 100 level courses to help you become proficient with Pro Tools systems.
Pro Tools 101 – Introduction to Pro Tools
Pro Tools 101 has been dramatically reworked and updated for Pro Tools 8. The material is focused to cover the basic principles you will need to understand to complete a Pro Tools project, from initial setup to final mixdown. Whether your project involves recording of live instruments, MIDI sequencing of software synthesizers or audio looping, this course will give you the basic steps to succeed.

- Getting Inside Pro Tools
- Creating Your First Session
- Making Your first Audio Recording
- Importing Media into Your Session
- Making Your First MIDI Recording
- Selecting and Navigating
- Basic Editing Techniques
- Introduction to Mixing

Prerequisites:
Familiarity with concepts that include basic computer skills, some audio recording knowledge such as a basic understanding of recording techniques, processes, and equipment.
Course Length: Two days (16-20 course hours)
Pro Tools 110– Essentials of Pro Tools
Pro Tools 110 course provides a more in depth and detailed look at the Pro Tools system. The course covers all the key concepts and skills needed to operate a Digidesign Pro Tools System. The material presented in this course provides the foundation for the later 200-series Pro Tools Music Production and Post Production courses.

- Getting Started - Configuring your Studio and Session
- Controlling Pro Tools - What is an External Controller?
- Managing Sessions and tracks
- Recording MIDI and Audio
- Loop Recording and Auditioning
- Understanding Timescales
- Virtual Instruments and Plug-Ins
- Editing MIDI and Audio
- Understanding Automation
- Mixing - Use of Sends and Returns and Plug-Ins
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with concepts that include basic computer skills, some audio recording knowledge, and some Pro Tools familiarity. Pro Tools 101 'Introduction to Pro Tools' is intended as a prerequisite for taking the 110 Course. Passing of the 101 Exam is Required before taking the 110 Exam.
Course Length: Three days (24-30 course hours)
